Seniors Motorhome Hire Companies in Brisbane

September 27th, 2007 by Grey Nomad

Hello Grey Nomad and hello all you fellow Grwy Nomads reading. It’s Joyce and Max writing in to share our experiences with renting a motorhome in Brisbane, which is our second port of call in Queensland, Australia, by the way, we stopped briefly and looked at some for sale houses on the Gold Coast.

We’ve had a shocking time really. We’ve looked around everywhere but we’ve been awfully picky about which motorhome rental company we will hire from to travel up to Noosa (and then up to Airlie Beach and Cairns). Also, trying to comprehend the difference in value between GBP and AU dollars has been particularly flustering… I nearly had a stroke when the man told us it would cost upwards of 6000 to rent a motorhome for three months. When I realised that six thousand in Aussie dollars was closer to the tune of £2500 I was relieved, as you might imagine! Six thousand in pounds is roughly AUD14,000 which is a bit of a saving.

So far we’ve looked at the following motorhome and campervan hire companies:

  • Apolo Motor homes,
  • Brits Campers,
  • Maui Rentals, and
  • Wicked Campers

We’ve yet to make up our minds, we’re terrible! We’ve taken lots of notes, mind you, and I will wite in tomorrow to blog about the pros and cons of Australian motor home comanies then. Hopefully Grey Nomad will be kind enough to publish our tips for seniors renting a motorhome in Brisbane. Thanks for listening to us babble on about motorhome rental, fellow travelers!

Lots of love,
Cindy & Joyce
